The grief for her loss refuses to cease, and still, there is no pause in these confused frustrations. I struggle to remember in precedence, and I hope to never know again the harrowing emptiness that greets my mornings, the sleepless fear that fills my nights--the regret for all I could have said, done better. But the past is illusory in the face of a cloudy future, one that will exist not enriched by the love of my life, my better half, my best, best friend. I'll visit it to conjure up the memories that have made me, the horrible mistakes, the glorious triumphs, the facts of that life. And when I visit, a metaphysical tenderness will be my nostalgia, still knowing that she lived once, and loved unconditionally. So I hope to heal in remembering the lives she touched, the songs she sang in her gorgeous mezzo, the sacrifices she made at every chance, and the things she left behind, her pride and joy, her descendant, and gift. I hope to heal through the music, to find peace in the muses and words they carry, and to share that healing with you. I hope these songs will help me come to a place of full acceptance, of victory, and of life renewed. I hope, for all these things, that they come to me and bring me comfort--soon.
